Tea Bonbons finally meet FDA quality standards!

Tea Plays Tea Bonbons

Tea Plays' four flavors of tea bonbons proven free of pesticides for American shelves and tables!

After having visited 17 tea plantations and a host of factories, after having been through nearly a year of sourcing, we've finally crafted four USDA-certified organic tea bonbons! We can now sit proudly alongside the safest high-quality flowers and herbs in the country!

Thanks to the funding of our Indiegogo backers, we had our four tea bonbons tested at the Eurofins lab at the end of September; the outcome was a full clearance for FDA non-pesticides standards for of all our ingredients…

The sourcing process has been especially challenging because of our use of flowers in all of our bonbons. The flower is the reproductive organ of a plant and the part that particularly attracts insects. On the one hand, flowers in commercial use have to be grown with pesticides to ensure a stable quantity of yield; one the other hand, flower producers in China are mostly small family businesses who lack the knowledge to support economic scaling for organic growing and processing of flowers. Both of these aspects have made the testing process a long and strenuous trial and error process!

Our positive results may seem run-of-the-mill – they were not. In fact, the laboratory that processed us acknowledged the achievement: we are the first tea company in Mainland China who have achieved this standard with self-developed blended teas.

Now with the test results, we are undergoing the formalities to apply for the FDA certificate, the entry ticket for any food-related business to the US market.
We're now ready to give the health- and flavor-conscious population of the US a chance to try our tea bonbons.
